In 2006, Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam appointed Jamil as the first-ever official team psychologist. That year, Europe won by a record-equalling margin. Since then, Jamil has worked with five Ryder Cup captains.
He has coached 22 golfers ranked in the world’s top 50, including two world number ones. He has also supported three English Premier League clubs and currently advises players from Liverpool FC, Manchester United, and Manchester City.
Jamil has worked with two Formula 1 drivers and helped the England cricket team win the 2009 Ashes. In 2009, GQ Magazine named him one of the most influential figures in British sport. In 2023, The Daily Mirror ranked him among the top 100 coaches globally.
His business work spans over 24 countries. He helps leadership teams unlock performance and deliver meaningful change. Jamil has led board-level programmes for major brands like Coca-Cola, HP, Emirates, Cisco, and GSK. He also played a key role in Lloyds Banking Group’s award-winning ‘Journey to World Class’ programme.
During COVID-19, Jamil supported global leadership teams at SAS, Lloyds, GSK, Janssen, NHS England, and Protiviti. He helped them adapt to leading remote and hybrid teams in a rapidly changing world.
