Sally Gunnell (OBE) is an iconic figure in British athletics, known for holding the Olympic, World, European, and Commonwealth titles at the same time. After retiring from sport, she became a motivational speaker and TV presenter, sharing insights on success, leadership, and teamwork.
She remains the only female British athlete to have won all four major titles. She was also the first female 400m hurdler to win both the Olympic and World titles while breaking the world record. Her former world record time of 52.74 seconds, set in 1993, still ranks in the global top ten (as of 2022) and remains the British record. That same year, she was named World and European Female Athlete of the Year, received an MBE, and later earned an OBE in 1998.
Today, Sally champions health and wellbeing, guiding companies on how to embed wellness into the workplace. As a working mother of three boys, she draws from her athletics career to inspire others, delivering keynotes and offering practical tools for positive change.
She has also written four influential books, using her expertise to reach a wider audience. Alongside keynote speaking and workplace wellbeing programmes, she actively supports healthy and active family initiatives across the UK.
