Piers Linney is an entrepreneur and investor with experience in technology, media, communications, and additive manufacturing. He co-founded Implement AI, a next-generation tech partner that helps businesses transform using artificial intelligence.
Piers is a Top AI Voice on LinkedIn and co-hosts the podcast The AI Assisted Organisation. He also writes a weekly LinkedIn newsletter called Business as Usual, where he shares insights on innovation and AI.
He is the Chairman and co-founder of Atherton Bikes, a world-leading manufacturer of 3D-printed mountain bikes. The company claimed first and second place at the 2023 World Championships.
Piers is a passionate advocate for entrepreneurship and SMEs. He regularly appears on radio and TV as a business commentator. As a keynote speaker, he shares insights on AI at major events like Tech Show London, AI & Big Data World, and Elite Business Live.
Many know Piers from BBC1’s Dragons’ Den and Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire. Earlier in his career, he worked as a lawyer in venture capital, then moved into M&A investment banking at Credit Suisse, followed by a role in alternative asset fund management.
He served as a Non-Executive Director of the British Business Bank during the rollout of the UK’s £90bn Covid business loan scheme. He was also a trustee of Nesta, the UK’s largest innovation agency, which holds a £500m endowment.
Piers has been named one of the UK’s top 100 most influential Black Britons. In 2020, he was recognised as one of the UK’s top 20 ethnic minority executives. He advises Sky and sits on its Diversity Advisory Council. In 2024, he won Diversity Champion of the Year at the European Diversity Awards for his work with Sky.
