From Iraq to Syria, and from Congo to Yemen, Oli has learned to build and lead high-performing teams. He motivates teams toward world-class goals in some of the harshest environments on Earth.
As a speaker, Oli shows how to lead elite teams with purpose and vision. He also explains how to manage risk and uncertainty, strengthen resilience, and expand our sense of what is possible. Furthermore, he has shared his insights globally with organisations like Google, HP, Rolls-Royce, EDF, AXA and the England Rugby Team.
For over fifteen years, Oli has travelled through deserts, jungles, mountains and war-torn regions across 75 countries. He has faced spies, interrogators, minefields and arrest. He has also endured avalanches, earthquakes, meningitis and severe dehydration. However, he has learned that even in the darkest places, we can find beauty and strength if we allow it.
In May 2024, Oli became the first person this century to complete a fully human-powered journey from Death Valley to Denali. This 64-day, 3,588-mile expedition travelled from North America’s lowest point to its highest. It also generated global media coverage from the BBC, The Times, Nat Geo and Red Bull magazine. Furthermore, this achievement forms part of Oli’s world-first “Ultimate Seven” project. In this project, he aims to complete human-powered journeys from each continent’s lowest point to its highest.
His other expeditions include a solo winter 8,000-mile mountaineering journey from Hong Kong to Istanbul. He also completed a 400-mile solo winter crossing of Siberia’s Lake Baikal, and a 1,634-mile human-powered journey from Lac Assal to Kilimanjaro. In addition, he has climbed Iraq’s highest mountain, volcanoes in the Congo, and many notable peaks across dozens of countries.
Oli is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a Member of the Scientific Exploration Society. He is also a Winter Mountain Leader with a Degree in Outdoor Leadership, and he is supported by several global brands.
