BIO

Mohsin Zaidi is an award-winning author, commentator, and qualified lawyer. His memoir, A Dutiful Boy (Penguin, 2020), won the Polari Prize and the Lambda Literary Award. It was also named Book of the Year by The Guardian, GQ, and New Statesman. The book offers a personal perspective on diversity, inclusion, mental health, and justice.

The Guardian calls it “a profound meditation on the power of the human heart to transcend the contradictions of diverse cultures,” while The Times describes it as a life-saving book.

Mohsin became the first person from his school to attend Oxford University. He qualified as a lawyer at international firm Linklaters and is now a criminal barrister at one of England’s top chambers. He has also worked at the UN War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague and served as a Judicial Assistant to Lord Sumption and Lord Wilson at the UK Supreme Court.

A passionate advocate for LGBT rights, BAME representation, and social mobility, Mohsin serves on the board of Stonewall. He is listed by The Financial Times as a top future LGBT leader. A regular commentator on Sky News, he also writes for CNN Style, Bustle, Mr Porter, and Newsweek. Recently, he was named in The Lawyer Magazine Hot 100.
