Mark Gallagher has over 30 years of experience in Formula 1 motor racing. He has held senior roles in high-performance environments and is now an author, broadcaster, and industry analyst. Mark continues to work closely with drivers and teams in the sport. Additionally, he is a renowned public speaker, providing keynote presentations globally since 1998.
Mark’s executive career in Formula 1 includes more than a decade on the management board of the Jordan Grand Prix team. He also ran the Cosworth engine business and helped establish Red Bull Racing’s commercial arm. Mark has been a key member of the FIA’s technical working groups, focusing on environmental sustainability and safety regulations in the sport.
In 2014, Mark worked on Formula 1’s energy efficiency regulations. His expertise spans commercial and operational management, as well as the regulatory, business, and technology landscape of Formula 1. Mark also played a major role in introducing leading technology companies to the sport, helping drive Formula 1’s digital transformation.
Mark began his career in 1983 in media and communications. He joined the Jordan Grand Prix team in 1990 and became part of its management board in 1998. The team challenged for the World Championship in 1999. In 2004, he joined Jaguar Racing as it transitioned into Red Bull Racing.
In 2010, Mark was appointed head of the Cosworth Formula 1 engine company. Cosworth supplied engines and technologies to one-third of Formula 1 teams. Beyond Formula 1, Mark co-founded Status Grand Prix, competing in lower formulae and international sports car racing. Since 2012, Mark has focused on his Formula 1 consulting business, Performance Insights, working with a variety of clients in the sport.
