Lord Victor Adebowale is a highly influential leader, known for combining commercial acumen with a strong commitment to social responsibility. Recently, he stepped down as the CEO of Turning Point, a social enterprise providing health and social care services to around 100,000 people each year.
He also served as a Non-Executive Director on NHS England’s board. More recently, he has led research into social investment opportunities for social enterprises.
Victor has chaired several commissions focusing on key issues such as policing, employment, mental health, housing, and fairness. These included work for The London Fairness Commission, the Metropolitan Police, and central and local government.
In recognition of his work with the unemployed and homeless, he was awarded a CBE. He also became a crossbench peer in 2001.
Victor holds multiple leadership roles. He is a Non-Executive Director at the Co-Operative Group, Collaborate CIC, and Nuffield Health. Additionally, he is the Chair and Co-Founder of Visionable and Founder of Leadership in Mind. He also chairs Social Enterprise UK and the NHS Confederation.
In academia, Victor serves as a visiting Professor and Chancellor at the University of Lincoln. He is an honorary member of the Institute of Psychiatry, President of The International Association of Philosophy and Psychiatry, and a Governor at the London School of Economics.
He holds an MA in Advanced Organisational Consulting from the Tavistock Institute and City University.
