Katie Prescott is one of the UK’s leading technology and business journalists. She is the Technology Business Editor at The Times and Co-host of The Times Tech Podcast.

Named Tech Commentator of the Year at the 2024 UK Tech Awards, she is a familiar voice to millions. Previously, she was a Senior Lead Business Presenter for Radio 4’s Today Programme and a Business Correspondent across BBC News.

Katie covers the rapidly evolving tech, media, and telecoms sectors, focusing on their impact on business and daily life. She writes a weekly column for The Times’ award-winning business section and hosts major events for the publication.

As Co-host of The Times Tech Podcast, she interviews top tech leaders alongside The Sunday Times West Coast Correspondent, Danny Fortson. Together, they explore the AI revolution, featuring guests like Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and OpenAI’s Sam Altman.

Katie is a sought-after keynote speaker, moderator, and event MC. She has spoken at London Tech Week, the AI Summit, and Retail Week. Her expertise covers AI, business, finance, media, digital disruption, cybersecurity, and the metaverse. She has worked with organizations such as Dell, Accenture, The Investment Association, Innovate Finance, and the British Chambers of Commerce.

At the BBC, Katie was a key voice in explaining major global events, from COVID-19 to the European debt crisis. She has reported from across the world, including Tanzania, Rwanda, China, and the US. She also worked in the BBC’s New York Bureau.

Katie is currently writing a book about tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, set to be published by Pan Macmillan later this year. She holds a degree in Modern Languages from Oxford and lives in London with her two children.
