Justin Hughes is a renowned speaker on high-performance teams, leadership, decision-making, and risk. He has spoken at the Institute of Directors’ Annual Convention and at ‘Leaders in Dubai’ with Sir Richard Branson and Kofi Annan. He was a seed investor and founding partner in a retail fashion business. Now, he is a non-executive adviser to Inox, an emerging markets hedge fund, and mentors two community interest businesses.
Justin started his career in aviation. He joined the RAF at 23, earning the Wilkinson Sword for outstanding leadership. He graduated as the top cadet. After training, Justin flew the Tornado F3, taking part in worldwide deployments, including peacekeeping in Bosnia. He was later selected for the Red Arrows. He served for three years, performing over 250 displays, including three international tours. As Deputy Team Leader and Executive Officer, he managed day-to-day operations for 9 elite pilots and 90 support staff.
After leaving the RAF and Red Arrows, Justin built his business from the ground up, managing client programs in Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East. He is a hands-on operator with experience in several business ventures. Justin chairs the Advisory Board for humanutopia, a fast-growing social enterprise.
He holds an MBA with Distinction from London Business School and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Bristol.
