Ghislaine Boddington is a global expert in digital identity, virtual presence, and immersive experiences. Since the mid-1990s, she has shared her insights as a presenter, researcher, podcaster, and curator. Her work focuses on how we evolve our sense of presence—both physical and virtual.
She explores how the body, senses, and identity adapt in hybrid environments. Her work emphasizes touch, empathy, intimacy, and trust in tech-driven futures.
Ghislaine asks the tough questions. Through talks, podcasts, and consulting, she challenges creatives, technologists, policymakers, and the public to rethink their connection with technology. She draws on history while offering clear, forward-thinking insights grounded in deep intuition.
With roots in dance and performance, she uses the human body as a digital interface. Since the ’90s, she’s linked telepresence stages across the globe. In 2017, she received the SAT IX Immersion Experience Visionary Pioneer Award for her pioneering work on body-led technologies and their effect on digital identity.
Today, she continues blending telepresence, virtual worlds, robotics, motion capture, wearables, AR/MR, and gesture tech. Her goal is to inspire open dialogue about how these tools shape our bodies and lives—both positively and negatively. She helps clients find practical, future-ready solutions.
As a Reader in Digital Immersion at the University of Greenwich, she also co-founded body>data>space, a collective of designers working with responsive technologies and user-led experiences.
Ghislaine has delivered keynotes in over 35 countries. She works across sectors—creative, cultural, policy, education, and corporate. Her clients include Hyundai, BBC, Innovate UK, Nesta, Telefonica, FutureFest, Mobile World Congress, Cambridge University, ICA, Deutsche Bank, EU Forum Europe Digital, Here East/Plexal, DCMS, British Council, Imperial College, and the National Theatre.
