Garth Miller – Everest Summiteer – Special Forces Officer – Airline Pilot
Garth’s remarkable career spans elite military command, global aviation leadership, and a record-breaking Special Forces speed ascent of Everest. He thrives on extreme physical challenges and uses these experiences to deliver practical and powerful lessons. His stories from small-team operations on the world’s highest peaks bring theory to life with clarity and impact.
Garth graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Cambridge. He later became Flight Technical Manager for the world’s largest Boeing 747 fleet. In this role, he ensured the safe and efficient operation of 57 aircraft worth billions. He has logged more than 15,000 flying hours and now flies worldwide as an Airbus A350 Captain with a leading British airline.
Garth’s military career included service with the Royal Gurkha Rifles, the Irish Guards, and UK Special Forces. He also deployed with US Navy SEALS and trained in desert, arctic, and jungle environments. These experiences shaped his approach to leadership, resilience, and high-performance teamwork.
Garth lives in Henley-on-Thames with his wife and two children. He flies vintage aircraft in his spare time and is currently learning aerobatics. His endurance resume includes 10 Ironman triathlons and the infamous Marathon des Sables. He has also joined expeditions to five 8,000-metre peaks across Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan. In 2025, he returned to the Himalayas to lead a Special Forces team on a record-breaking speed ascent of Everest, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for veterans’ charities.
