Ed Newton-Rex is a leading expert and speaker on Generative AI, having founded and sold a Generative AI company. He has held senior positions at social media giants TikTok and Snapchat. Previously, Ed served as VP of Audio at Stability AI, resigning due to concerns over copyrighted material use.
Graduating top of his class in Music at Cambridge University, Ed founded Jukedeck in 2010, the world’s first AI music company. Jukedeck’s technology generated over a million original music pieces and earned accolades such as a Cannes Innovation Lion. ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company, acquired Jukedeck in 2019.
At ByteDance, Ed led the AI music lab and later managed Product in Europe for TikTok, focusing on the renowned AI recommendation algorithm. As Snapchat’s Chief Product Officer for Voisey, he facilitated music creation and collaboration, leading to record deals for users.
Recently, Ed led Stable Audio at Stability AI, recognized by TIME Magazine as a top invention of 2023.
