Professor Dr. Larissa Suzuki (BSc MPhil PhD CEng CRAeS FRSA FIET AFHEA IntPE), known as Lara Suzuki, has over 18 years of experience in technology and engineering. She is a Cloud CTO at Google, where she drives innovation in AI, Federated Learning, Cloud Robotics, Responsible AI, and MLOps. Larissa also serves as a Google AI Principles Ethics Fellow, focusing on the ethical use of AI.
Larissa has worked with NASA/JPL to help build the Interplanetary Internet. She has developed systems for healthcare, finance, smart cities, and robotics.
As a professor, Larissa teaches at UCL, Université du Québec, Oxford, and Harvard. She is a popular TEDx speaker with nearly 110,000 views and offers online courses.
An entrepreneur and inventor, Larissa founded AppStudio, the UCL Society of Women Engineers, and The KOI Circle, the largest network of women in STEM on LinkedIn. She contributes to open-source projects and has received multiple awards.
Larissa is a keynote speaker and advocate for diversity. She is featured in the IET Women in Engineering exhibit and named one of 95 inspiring engineers by the IET. She has worked to improve diversity in engineering since she was 17.
Larissa chairs the Tech London Advocates Smart Cities Group. She reviews grants and awards for the Royal Academy of Engineering, IET, and ACM. She also serves on the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering and the Royal Academy of Engineering DEI Committees.
