Belinda Parmar OBE is a leading diversity advocate, CEO of The Empathy Business, and a Non-Executive Director for the Ministry of Defence. She applies the science of empathy to transform leadership, communication, and operations.
She pioneered the Global Empathy Index, the first large-scale measure of empathy and inclusion, featured in the Harvard Business Review. Recently, she launched the AI-powered Empathy Index, combining sentiment analysis, large language models, and human insight to rank companies on empathy.
Belinda works with corporations to implement practical ‘nudges’ that drive an empathy revolution. Her strategies help organizations build inclusive cultures based on belonging, diversity, and courageous leadership.
As Empathy-In-Residence at Barclays, Lloyds, and Centrica, she created Europe’s largest bank’s first Empathy Hub. She was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and spoke at Davos in 2019.
Belinda received an OBE in 2015 for her contributions to women in technology. She was named a top 20 Global Public Figure in Diversity (2020) and a Top 20 Diversity Champion (2021). With degrees in law and languages, she blends rational and emotional thinking to create lasting change in organizations.
