BIO

Alex Staniforth is a record-breaking adventurer, ICF-trained coach, author, and charity founder from Chester. He knows adversity better than most. As a teenager, he survived the two biggest disasters in Mount Everest history. His greatest challenges, however, were closer to home—living with epilepsy, stammering, bullying, and mental ill health since childhood.

Defeat was never an option for Alex. While still at school, he raised over £35,000 in corporate sponsorship. His first Everest attempt in 2014 ended when a tragic avalanche claimed sixteen lives. In 2015, he was trapped at Camp 1 for two days after the Nepal earthquake. That disaster took the lives of three teammates at Base Camp.

Alex continues to test his limits to inspire others. In June 2025, he became the first and fastest person to run and cycle all 446 mountains in England and Wales in just 45 days. He has written two books—Icefall and Another Peak—and founded Mind Over Mountains, a charity restoring mental well-being through nature.

His endurance feats include running the National Three Peaks Challenge, covering 17 marathons in nine days, and climbing all 100 UK county tops in record time. He has raised over £150,000 for charity and, in 2025, received an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Chester for his contribution to young people’s mental health.

Alex has shared his story with organisations including Rolls-Royce, Samsung, Accenture, FedEx, and the NHS. At 30, he stands apart from traditional motivational speakers. He combines endurance, lived experience, and practical mindset tools to help audiences discover resilience and overcome fear of failure. His talks bridge the gap between mental health and performance, proving that well-being is not a barrier to achievement—it’s the foundation of it.

When he’s not inspiring audiences worldwide, Alex can be found running through the hills, chasing his next challenge. Why settle for Base Camp?
