Alex Depledge is a serial tech entrepreneur and the current CEO of Resi.co.uk — the UK’s largest residential architectural practice. Resi helps homeowners renovate and extend their homes and is a leading company in the proptech sector.
Before founding Resi, Alex launched Hassle.com, Europe’s largest domestic cleaning marketplace. She sold the business for €32 million.
Resi was created to modernise the architectural industry. So far, it has supported over 4,000 UK homeowners with design, contractor connections, and home finance.
By digitising the entire home renovation journey, Resi has doubled productivity and halved lead times to site.
As CEO of Hassle.com, Alex grew the company from idea to over £8 million in turnover in under two years. She also led its expansion from one city to seven, across four European countries.
Hassle.com’s model broke new ground by letting cleaners bid for jobs and build direct relationships with customers.
Beyond entrepreneurship, Alex served four years on the board of London LEAP, chaired by the Mayor of London. The board oversees more than £100 million in investment into London’s culture and communities.
In that role, Alex offered strategic input, scrutiny, and advice on major initiatives, including the London COVID-19 Recovery Programme.
She also served as a non-executive director for Edited, a fashion analytics software used by top retailers such as Inditex and Arcadia.
Alex regularly appears on TV and radio as a commentator. She also sits on the board of Persimmon Homes.
Her achievements have earned her numerous awards, including:
-
Emerging Technology Scale-up (2022) at the Enterprise Awards
-
Barclays Start-Up Entrepreneur of the Year (2020)
-
An MBE in 2016 for services to the sharing economy
