BIO

Polar adventurer Alan Chambers MBE led the first successful British unsupported expedition from Canada to the Geographic North Pole. He and his teammate walked 672 nautical miles in temperatures as low as -65°C, dragging a sledge as heavy as a baby elephant. After seventy gruelling days on the ice, they raised the Union Jack on 16th May 2000.

Since then, Alan has led more than a dozen North Pole expeditions with top business leaders and chief executives. He uses these extreme environments to help them reflect on and strengthen their leadership skills.

In 2006, Alan led a team through the punishing Yukon Arctic Ultra Challenge. Two years later, he crossed Greenland for the Feet of Green initiative—created to inspire children to embrace adventure and environmental responsibility.

By 2009, Alan had guided another team—this time composed of senior executives and high achievers—to the South Pole, once again pushing the boundaries of resilience and leadership.

Alan’s experience stems from his 16 years of service as a Royal Marine. In 1995, he joined the first winter expedition to traverse Iceland by ski. Since then, he has sledged across Greenland, the Canadian Northwest Territories, Norway, and Iceland.

Today, Alan delivers over 100 motivational speeches and workshops each year. His audiences range from small SMEs to major global corporations. Typically, he presents a one-hour keynote followed by an audience Q&A, with the option of a hands-on interactive workshop.
