BIO

Afua Hagan is one of Britain’s most prominent voices on diversity. She is a charismatic TV and radio presenter, keynote speaker, diversity and inclusion expert, event host, moderator, and a respected commentator on the British Royal Family. Known for her bold opinions and confident delivery, Afua has appeared on major platforms including ITV, BBC, LBC, Times Radio, and talkRADIO. Her contributions to broadcasting have earned her well-deserved recognition.

In addition to her presence on STV and Yanga! TV, Afua has been honoured by the Black Women in Business Awards for her impact in media. A passionate journalist with years of experience, she hosted CNBC’s Sustainable Energy, penned a regular column for The Voice newspaper, and served as Editor-in-Chief of Glam Africa magazine.

At 17, Afua moved from Glasgow to London to study journalism at City University. After specialising in broadcast and music, she began her career with roles at T4 and PopWorld, later joining ITV’s 60 Minute Makeover. However, she soon outgrew the fast-paced home décor world and transitioned into music publishing. There, she worked at Blue Mountain Music under the legendary Chris Blackwell.

Driven by her love for storytelling, Afua took a position at Blackhair magazine as an editorial assistant. Within a year, she rose to editor. She then became features editor at Pride magazine before moving into television as a producer and anchor at Arise News.

At ABN TV, she produced and hosted Young & Rising and later launched Entertainment Weekly. Afua has consistently championed the UK and international music scene, particularly Afrobeats. She also hosted The A-List on The Beat 103.6FM, further cementing her influence in the industry.
